Our Counseling Program
The counseling program at Marsh is guided by the American School Counselor Association’s National Model for School Counseling (ASCA 2002, 2012). Our school counselor supports the academic mission of the school by providing a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum designed to support the growth of every student in academic, career and personal-social domains. Our counselor, Mrs. Haslar, teaches a social skill lesson once a week in every classroom and its message is reinforced on the morning “Sunshine Report.”
The counselor is our “behavior specialist,” supporting students with individual and group counseling sessions, serving on a variety of leadership teams committed to school improvement, providing consultation with parents and teachers, coordinating response to crisis situations and making referrals to outside agencies when additional support is needed.
The counselor is an advocate for all children in our school. You are welcome to call and consult with her.
